The last two entries have gone over a couple training sites that concentrate on ring games, so today’s entry will highlight a site that makes poker videos for multi and single table tournaments. Poker Pwnage came out relatively recently, and they came with one intention: to turn out poker videos for people that prefer tournament poker. If you want to join, you must pay $35 as your membership fee and then monthly it’s $24.99. Comparing it to the sites from the previous entries, it’s cheaper than Cardrunners but more expensive than GrinderSchool.
If you play the tournaments on a Virgin Poker download but you keep having to reload, it might be time to look into Poker Pwnage. Their catalogue contains 300+ online poker videos, and all of them were produced by some very profitable multi-table tournament poker professionals. In fact, a couple of the instructors have done quite well in WSOP 2010 so far. David “GhettoFabolous” Randall placed 3rd in Event 11, and “Chardrian” Dresel-Velasquez placed 5th in Event 12.
If you don’t really like MTT poker and you’re more of a Sit-N-Go player, you’ll also benefit from Poker Pwnage. The instructors play buy-ins from $10 to over $100, and you can find 6 max and heads-up games if you don’t like full ring. You’ll find a lot of beginner strategy, but it’s possible to also find some advanced tactics. Even if you’re a fairly seasoned player, you’ll still have something to take away from the videos here.
Do not even think about signing up for this site if you want cash game strategy. A quick search returns only five videos featuring ring games, and we might be waiting a while before the next one. If you’re mostly a Stud player on a Full Tilt Poker download, you shouldn’t bother with this site, either. You’ll find only Hold Em, and I doubt we’ll see much else for a while.
It’s great to know that Poker Pwnage has committed to tournament players, so I don’t mind that they lack cash games. When you’re a member, you can be sure that the education you’ll get is capable of turning you into a winning player. After you watch some of the videos, it’s possible that you won’t have to make another poker deposit on Tiger Gaming ever again!
